Ful Medames ๐Ÿซ˜

Made from fava beans (not chickpeas), bright green inside, often coated in sesame seeds.

Molokhia ๐ŸŒฟ

A green, slightly slimy soup of jute leaves, garlic and coriander โ€” served over rice with chicken or rabbit.

Layered rice, crispy bread, garlic vinegar sauce and meat (often lamb). Celebration food.

Feteer Meshaltet ๐Ÿฅž

Flaky layered pastry, served savory (with cheese/meat) or sweet (with honey).

Umm Ali ๐Ÿฎ

Egypt's beloved bread pudding dessert โ€” pastry, milk, nuts and raisins.

Basbousa & Konafa ๐Ÿฏ
